Crypto addresses on official sanctions lists

How many digital-currency addresses the OFAC SDN, UK OFSI and EU consolidated lists publish right now, per source and per chain — read from the same content-hashed snapshots KYTGate screens against. Rendered 2026-09-06 09:17 UTC, refreshed every 10 minutes; raw JSON at /api/public/sanctions-stats.

Counts are the digital-currency address identifiers each list publishes (exact identifiers, one row per chain tag), not persons or entities. A list that fails to fetch keeps its last snapshot; its age is shown as it is. "fresh" = fetched within 9 h, "aging" = a missed run (9–48 h), "stale" = older than 48 h. EU is stale right now: the last successful fetch is 3 days (EU) old — the publisher has not been reachable since, and we keep and show the last snapshot rather than an empty list. Screenings record the exact snapshot they used.

Per chain

Chain tags as the publishers write them (OFAC: "Digital Currency Address – XBT"; UK/EU: the tag next to the address, or the address shape when there is none). The same address listed under two tags counts twice, exactly as published.

Check an address against these lists

Wallet sanctions check screens one address against exactly these snapshots and reads USDT/USDC issuer freezes live. Freeze-only checks: USDT, Tron USDT (TRC-20), USDC. How the lists are parsed and matched is on the methodology page; job health on status.

Questions

What is on the OFAC crypto address list?

Digital-currency addresses that OFAC attaches to designated persons and entities on the SDN list, each tagged with a chain (XBT, ETH, USDT, TRX and others). The UK OFSI and EU consolidated lists carry the same kind of identifiers in free text. This page counts those address identifiers only — not the persons, and not addresses that analytics firms attribute to them.

How often is the list updated?

The publishers change their lists irregularly, often several times a month. KYTGate re-fetches every source at least every 6 hours and stores each fetch as a content-hashed snapshot; the "last change" column above is the most recent fetch whose content differed from the one before it, and "last fetched" is when we last read the publisher.

If an address is not on the list, is it clean?

No. A "no known match" means the exact address is not on the lists we hold at that moment. Designated persons control addresses that are never published, addresses get added after funds moved through them, and issuer freezes (USDT/USDC) are a separate fact that does not appear on any sanctions list. Treat the lists as a floor, not a clearance.

Overall freshness right now: stale. Exact-match data from official publishers; not legal or compliance advice.
